Snap's Coffee House
Shirley and I were on the way to Ebbetts Pass in the Sierra Mountains one morning last week when she asked if I wanted to stop at a coffee shop in Copperopolis that she had "discovered" on a golf outing. I did not want to stop; I wanted to get up into the high country. But Shirley persisted and told me I would enjoy the visit so we pulled off into the Copperopolis Town Square and walked into Snap's Coffee House and Wine Bar. What a fine place, friendly and warm with that great aroma that coffee houses always seem to have. We also met one of the new owners, Steve Apodaca, who chatted a bit with us and with the other patrons scattered about enjoying coffee and pastries. Shirley had her iced nonfat latte and I enjoyed a double cappuccino while we noshed on a scone. Everything about the scene was good, relaxing, and "real".
This was a wonderful place to visit. Places like this are the heart and soul of local America and it is important for us to support the owners of these businesses as they compete for a living against the monster-sized coffee conglomerates. Stop in and visit Steve and his wife Keri when you find yourself near Copperopolis, you'll be glad you did.
